Mukai Taichi (向井太一) is a J-R&B singer-songwriter and model under the TOY'S FACTORY label. His musical style mixes J-pop with alternative R&B, soul, funk and experimental electronica sounds.

Information

Mukai started singing at age of 18, in 2010. He moved to Tokyo in order to achieve his musical career as a singer. He first debuted as a part of the funk band Modio. One year later, he decided to leave the band and start his own solo career. Mukai started posting some songs in Soundcloud, and since they were well received, he kept releasing them there. The first one was "Kimi ni Kiss shite". In June 7, 2015, he started writing in a blog for male fashion magazine men's FUDGE'.

In March 30, 2016, he released his first EP as an indie artist, Pool. In November 19, 2016, he released his second EP 24, under indie label Miya Terrace. In 23 August 2017, he did his big label debut under TOY'S FACTORY, the EP PLAY and in November 29, 2017, he released his debut album BLUE.

In 2020, Taichi started gaining attention from mainstream artists, collaborating with famous acts such as m-flo and SMAP former member Katori Shingo.
