Information

Hiroki debuted in 2000 in the stage production "Horobi Kaketa Jinrui, Sono Ai no Honjitsu wa..." as Caine, chosen out of 3000 hopefuls. He made his theatrical debut in 2001 with the film Oboreru Sakana. When he was in the hit drama Gokusen the following year, he gained a large fan following for his performance. The same year, he had the lead in the drama Okan wa Uchuu wo Shihaisuru.

In 2003 Hiroki was cast as Ukiha in the film Azumi, the big-screen production of the period manga. He was trained daily in sword fighting for the flick; it went on to become a hit film.

Hiroki had a difficult childhood; he dealt with the divorce of his parents as a child and his mother's death during junior high (he barely passed). He and his younger brother were then raised by his grandmother. He began hanging out in Shinjuku's Nichome district and still considers this to be his second home.
