SOUTHERN ALL STARS is the self-titled ninth album released by Southern All Stars. It was released in four formats, LP, cassette, and two CD versions, a regular edition and a limited edition including a digital wristwatch. The 2008 reissue was released as a limited edition housed in a digipack. The limited and the regular editions of the album charted separately; limited edition reached #1 on Oricon charts, charted for 16 weeks, and sold around 707,000 copies in 1990 becoming the #6 album of the year; the regular edition reached #2 on Oricon charts, charted for 41 weeks, and sold around 482,000 copies in 1990 becoming the #6 album of the year 14. If both editions would had charted together, the reported sales would add up to 1,189,000 copies, becoming the #2 album of 1990. The 1998 reissue reached #99 on Oricon charts, and charted for one week. The 2008 reissue reached #107 on Oricon charts, and charted for one week.
