SweetS

SweetS was a five-member girl group on avex trax. The girls won the avex Audition at the beginning of 2003 and debuted later that year. They disbanded on June 7th, 2006.

Information

During the 2002/2003 avex Audition, several thousand participants competed for the chance to be in a dance & vocal performance unit. The five young girls chosen to form SweetS were Kashiwagi Akiko, Yoshimura Ayaka, Takewa Haruna, Iwasaki Mai and Takimoto Miori. After severals months of training, they debuted on August 27th, 2003 with the single "LolitA☆Strawberry in summer". They also participated in all the avex X'mas singles & Girl's Box concerts.

In 2005, leader Aki and lead vocalist Aya began a six month break in order to properly prepare for their high school entrance exams. The three remaining members released one single as a trio, "on the way ~Yakusoku no Basho e~". Aki & Aya returned in March 2006 for the tenth single, having successfully passed their exams.

However, during recent events and on their official website, SweetS announced their official disbandment would be June 7th, 2006 with their final single.
