THE CHANGING SAME is Hirai Ken's third and last album with Sony Records. It was released on the same days as Ken Hirai Films Vol.2.
The original edition reached #1 on Oricon charts and charted for eighteen weeks, while the re-released reached #44 and stayed on the charts for four weeks. As the original edition sold 912,800 copies in 2000, it was the 18th best-selling album of that year.
