Information

"Watarasebashi" is Moritaka Chisato's 17th single. The title track was used as the ending theme for the TV Tokyo show Ii Tabi Yume Kibun. Moritaka wrote the lyrics to the song after she revisited the bridge over Watarasegawa near her old college in Ashikaga when she was facing artistic and identity issues. "Watarasebashi" would be later covered by other artists like Matsuura Aya, Goto Maki, Jounouchi Sanae, and CHAKA. Also, in 2007, the city of Ashikaga inscribed tanaka (short poems) based off the lyrics all over the Yakumo Jinja.

The single reached #9 on the weekly Oricon chart and charted for fifteen weeks, selling 309,660 copies. It also reached #96 on the yearly Oricon charts for 1993.
