Styling

Aren't we going to use the old Theppn's style? I want to make sure because if it's true, I will reorganize pages with other formats to a same format that we always used at the old Theppn. Seph 08:24, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it's all following thePPN's format, so you're more than welcomed to updated any pages that don't follow the format :) EXodius 01:03, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Doing some testing of an addon that allows you to share/save links. I know thePPN didn't have this, hence why I'm hoping to get some input from everyone here on it EXodius 06:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
So the calendar addon was a bust, but does anyone here have any idea on what sort of coding was used to make the random blocks for featured artists and oricon charts? I'll be looking at wikipedia's code to figure out how it can be done, so don't be surprised if it doesn't look 100% accurate at first ;) --EXodius 20:10, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
I think the Theppn used templates for the featured artists and Oricon charts sections. Does anyone have a source code of an old Oricon weekly charts, I want to update them again. Seph 01:44, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Discography Table?

What is the story with the discography table layout here? This presents an inconsistency for this wiki. For example, on BoA we have her Korean and Japanese releases listed sequentially. Why don't we do that here for tommyfebruary6 and tommyheavenly6? I do think it would be nice at some point to have discography data sorted in tables/templates, but that would be a project for another day... Emifox032 23:05, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Check out this, as it's styled more like wikipedia. While I know we're not condoning the copying of articles from there, this block shows just how unified other artist blocks could look like. --EXodius 06:21, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
We don't use discography table for Japanese and Korean releases, they go into 2 separated sections, Kawase has one because she is releasing simultaneously in 2 stage names. Seph 06:47, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Weekly Articles

Glad you caught on, Seph! After trying addons and researching tons of code, I was finally able to figure out how thePPN had its articles on the front page each week! I just added the means of adding Oricon charts as well, so please let me know if you need it set up a certain way or anything. Thanks as always! --EXodius 13:46, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

I'll work on the Oricon weekly charts later. The Theppn had 2 Oricon charts, the top 10 and the top 30. I think you missed the top 30 on Main Page template, it is the line (Click Here for the Weekly Top 30 / Daily Charts) under the top 10 charts. For example, for this weeks, the small charts is Chart:Oricon Weekly for 2009 week 22 (used for the main page template) and the big charts is Oricon Weekly for 2009 week 22 (linked from the main page). Anyway, thank you, I hope we'll see a large Asian media wiki back again by the end of summer. Seph 14:00, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Template:Sakamoto Maaya

Awesome job with the new template! I needed to install MediaWiki 1.15 really quick to get the v.d.e buttons to show up, so apologies for any glitches you saw --EXodius 06:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

The new template looks cute XD, thank you and don't worry about it. And just a small request, if the codes are too hard, just drop it (I know it's midnight for you), can you input an option to change background color for the title boxes. Seph 06:54, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I'll try and figure that out tomorrow (or rather, today, seeing as how it's 1am here) once I wake up. Took a bit of going back and forth for the templates, but I think this will be a nice little update to the wiki since the other artist block styles have been the same since 4+ years ago when wiki.theppn began. Just need to make sure to change out that "Navbar/doc" reference to the artist name, and also fill in the "above =" section with something (although it's optional). Now to just figure out how to get "Chart:Oricon Weekly for 2009 week 22" to link to a chart category. Already got the variables figured (such as {{CURRENTWEEK}} and similar things). As long as I can do that and figure what sort of CSS wiki.theppn used for the Oricon charts (such as this) so they don't look plain :) --EXodius 07:03, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
So... do we have have to update all the templates to the new format? Just asking, cause I already did others but didn't post yet. --Hella 13:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I think it's up to you to update it or not because there are some more complicated templates like BoA. Seph 13:17, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
Ok. But if the point is to create a more unified style, we'll just have to try. :) --Hella 13:35, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

I would prefer if we tried the new look, but it's not necessarily required (at least not yet) as I know we have a few hundred templates right now. The main thing that that I've been focusing on (not sure if anyone else is doing this) is to build this up with as much content first and then begin to touch up/add as necessary. At our pace, we should be at over 5000 by this time next month, so anything that may take hours for you to work on (such as only one artist's page) should probably be low in priority. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do them, but I'm just not sure how else to get people here to help us out to speed things along :) --EXodius 13:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I see. I stopped recovering pages because I wanted to focus on my favourite artists pages, but what you said makes sense. xD I'll try to help out more to build this wiki. --Hella 13:57, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
