Hajime Chitose originally recorded this album in 1997 when she won the grand prize in the Amami folk song competition. She was in her third year of high school at the time, and is the youngest winner of the prize to date. It is a collection of traditional Shima Uta songs sung entirely by Hajime Chitose accompanied by a sanshin, which she played herself.

The album was reprinted after she rose to fame and contains many of the tracks found on Higya Merabe. However, it is nearly impossible to find on the internet, as it was published by a small company called Central Gakki which only distributes to Okinawa and the area around it.
