Sugazaki Akane was a Japanese pop singer under the GIZA studio label. She won the Grand Prix award for the Miss Pure Pure Audition 2001.

Biography

In 2002, then 13-year-old Akane won a small singing competition using Kuraki Mai's "Stand Up". A GIZA studio producer saw her on the show and instantly encouraged her to make a debut with the label. Later in the same year, she released her first single, "beginning dream". Although it only hit on number 38 on the Oricon charts, many people were interested with the newcomer's unique voice. Some people even predicted she was going to be the next Kuraki Mai for that both had the same simple style of clothing and had very few appearences yet made an incredibly large fanbase.

In spring of 2007, Sugazaki was fired from her agency Stadium Production because of her long hiatus.
