OMZM (2016)

2016: OMZM

On May 7, 2016, was revealed that Star Empire Entertainment had plans on debuting a new girl group, named OMZM at this time. The former Produce 101 contestants Han Hye Ri, Kang Si Hyeon and Kim Yun Ji were included in the first line-up. Days later, Shim Chae Eun, formerly under Starship Entertainment, was announced as a new trainee of Star Empire and was added to the line-up, however she left two months later.

2017: Empire Girls

In 2017, Han Hye Ri announced her departure from the group and from the label. Later, Star Empire announced seven trainees to join the survival reality Mix Nine: Lee A Ra, Choi Ji Yeon, Jang Hyo Gyeong, Lee Si Eun, Lee Da Won, including Kang Si Hyeon and Kim Yun Ji. At this time, they were known as Empire Girls. Lee A Ra and Lee Si Eun left the group at unknown time.
