Information

Black Biscuits formed in 1997 with Comedians Nana Mikyouya and Amano Hiroyuki with then unknown Chinese singer Vivian Hsu after the success of the group Pocket Biscuits was rising. Black Biscuits challenged their rivals to see who can reached the top of the Oricon charts and have more popularity among Japan. Their appeal to the Japanese audience was to be a dance unit. They released their first single, STAMINA, by the end of year with much success.

They released their second and third single, Timing and Relax, which features Amano on main vocals, in 1998 with the same success as the first one. Although there was many disagreeing factors on [[Timing, including the last minute change of colors for the costumes from red color to orange color, the single paved the way for the group to appear at the end of the year program Kouhaku Utagassen with their rivals Pocket Biscuits. They also were really big all over Asia, especially in Vivian's home of Taiwan, and appeared in many song festivals around Asia that were sponsored by NHK.

In May 1999, Ding Kaidi would joined the group and appeared in the next single, Bye-Bye. But due to Black Biscuits not achieving their goal of beating Pocket Biscuits in term of sales on Oricon, the unit was forced to disband a couple months later. Vivian Hsu would go on to persue more of her solo music career. However, the group got back together for a television appearance in March 2002.
