Houkiboshi is Mr.Children's 28th single. It was released in two versions: a limited CD+DVD edition and a regular CD only edition. The DVD contained a short movie directed by Tange Kouki, who has directed numerous PVs of the group. Houkiboshi was used as the TOYOTA's "Tobira wo Akeyou" campaign CM song. It reached #1 on the Oricon and sold 413,401 copies, making it the #12 best-selling single of 2006. This single charted for 34 weeks and sold a total of 419,805 copies.
