Kim graduated from Singwang Girls' Highschool and Dankook University with a bachelors degree in Theatre and Film, and made her acting debut in the 1999 teen drama series School 2 as Shin Hye Won, a rebellious teenager. She began her modeling career in high school, and has since been labeled a fashionista. Kim won the 1999 KBS Youth Award for the role of Shin Hye Won, but received criticism for her poor acting skills; she was labeled as an attractive but blank actress. After her roles in the drama Goodbye Solo and the film Hellcats, Kim was universally praised for her vast improvements. Kim Min Hee is also known for her publicized relationships with Lee Jung Jae and Lee Soo Hyuk.
