"Nageki no Mori" is the fifth single released by Ayane. The title track was used as the opening theme song for the PS2 game Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri. While a DVD version of this single was not produced, the DVD accompanying the limited edition of Ayane's first album "ARCHIVE LOVERS", which was released about two months later, includes a promotional video for "Nageki no Mori". On the Oricon charts, the single peaked at the 30th weekly position and remained within the top 200 for 12 weeks.
