SUPER☆GiRLS is a twelve-member female Japanese pop vocal and dance group signed to avex trax. It is avex's second new girl group girl group to debut in seven years, the first being TOKYO GIRLS' STYLE which debuted earlier in 2010. Their label is by iDOL Street, one which is different as compared to other bands. Avex created a new sub-label called iDOL Street limited only to idol artists. SUPER☆GiRLS is the first ones on the label.

SUPER☆GiRLS is the first audition idol girl group since avex trax was established. On December 2009, Avex held the first large-scale public audition "avex Idol auditions 2010". There was a total of 7,000 contestants attempting to win the contest. On 11 February 2010, first screening started and direct examination is performed by document reviews, about 1,000 people advanced to the 2nd round. In the coming months, the audition still continues, up to the finalist level in June 2010.
