Wada Kouji (和田光司) was a japanese anison singer. He was well-known of his song written to the anime: Digimon.

Information

His mayor debut was in 1999 April, with the single Butter-Fly which was used as the opening song of the first season of Digimon. It reached #47 on the Oricon weekly charts, so it was counted as successful single, and he performed the theme songs of the latter seasons of Digimon as well. His second single, the Target ~Akai Shougeki~ became his best selling single to date.

After the Digimon era he released new single much rarer. During his career he released 15 singles, the last one released 5 days before his death.

He had to fight against the cancer 2 times in his life. First time in 2003, when he could recover, but on 2011.10.04 he wrote onto his blog, he has pharyngeal cancer and due the complications, he died on 2016.04.03.
