YUKI promoting FLY (2014)

YUKI

YUKI is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter under Sony Music Entertainment's EPIC Records sub-label. YUKI rose to fame in the 1990's as the vocalist of the Japanese rock band, JUDY AND MARY. She's had various side projects, and she was even a drummer for the short lived girl-band, Mean Machine. YUKI made her solo debut in 2002 with the single, "the end of shite".

With the release of her 2005 album joy, YUKI transitioned into the electro-pop sound she is known for today. The album became her first to peak on the Oricon weekly charts. With the death of her first-born shortly after, YUKI released music while shying away from the public eye. In late 2006, she gave birth to a second child and released her fourth album WAVE, hitting #1 on the Oricon chart once again. Since then, she has released a string of equally successful albums.

YUKI's seventh studio album FLY will be released this week on September 17, 2014.
