Information

Naoko began her solo project in February 2000. She met Sugama Tatsuya, original guitarist of Missile Girl Scoot by chance in June 2000. With his help, Naoko made her first demo tape and in October began doing lives with Suwa Masataka of Stereo Types. Although she was mainly a solo artist, Naoko dubbed her project a "Vocal and Band Collaboration" and temporarily called it "Homeruns". That following January she renamed the project to "jenny01", and it has been called such ever since.

In April 2001 jenny01 began recording her first album, produced by Missile Girl Scoot's Oda Masayoshi and Tatsuya. cluster was released three months later on Monsoon Record. Tatsuya left the live performance list of jenny01 in September of the same year to focus on other producing works. At this time jenny01 turned from being a band into a main vocal project. However, Tatsuya stayed on to produce the next mini-album splash, along with Kitashiro "Hakase" Hiroshi, known for his work with Shiina Ringo. Guitarist KAZ (no relation to Iwaike Kaz) and bassist KAZZ began performing at jenny01's lives in December 2001. The two were also part of the splash mini-album when it was released in March 2002. The "second term" of jenny01 had begun, this time combining "bishoujo" (beautiful girl) vocals and "yajuu" (wild animal) music of the band.

Naoko established her own record label, "Nomber Zero One Records" in November of 2002. Her third mini-album I SCREAM TOUGHEE was released the same month, and this time Naoko had produced it herself. In March the next year a first DVD was released including video clips and interviews with Naoko. September 2003 brought around Naoko's second self-produced release and fourth mini-album sleep tight.

In October 2004 Naoko equalled jenny01, and jenny01 was Naoko. She began to act solo as "NAOKO" and invited Kishi Toshiyuki as her arranger. In 2005 she released her first "solo" maxi single, Monologue on 01 Records but as "jenny01". This marked the "third term" of jenny01. As "jenny01" again but credited widely as "NAOKO", Naoko's "first solo" mini-album Ladymade was released on Teichiku/Imperial Records. In November she had her first one-man live at Shinjuku MARZ.

jenny01 released her second "solo" mini-album, Private Address, again on Imperial Records. She worked with several artists on this album, including Abe of Studio Apartment. A third mini-album was be released in October 2006.
