''PUNKY'' is the ninth studio album released by [[Kimura Kaela]]. It's title contains two meanings "to emit light naturally" and "punk-like."<small><ref>[http://www.tokyohive.com/article/2016/07/kimura-kaela-to-release-first-album-in-almost-2-years ''TokyoHive'': "Kimura Kaela to release first album in almost 2 years"]</ref></small> The album was released in two editions: a limited CD+DVD edition and a regular CD edition. The LP was originally announced to be a five track mini-album back in July.<small><ref>[http://japakomusic.com/kimura-kaela-get-punky-upcoming-mini-album/ ''JapakoMusic'': "KIMURA KAELA TO GET ‘PUNKY’ FOR UPCOMING MINI ALBUM"]</ref></small> Prior the album Kimura released two digital singles: "[[Box|BOX]]" was used as the tie-in song to [[Wikipedia:Microsoft|Microsoft]]'s [[Wikipedia:Surface Book|Surface Book]] and "[[Koiwazurai no Buta]]" which was used as a [[CM|commercial theme]] for Kracie‘s Naive face wash. "[[Himawari (Kimura Kaela)|Himawari]]" was the theme for the film ''Christmas Card'', and was used as a digital pre-release. 

With the release of ''PUNKY'' Kimura announced her next tour [[Kaela Presents Punky Tour 2016-2017|KAELA presents PUNKY TOUR 2016-2017]], which will hates dates from October to March. The tour is divided into two legs: With STUDS TOUR supported by Kracie naive starting on October 18th, and DIAMOND TOUR starts up in January 2017.<small><ref>[http://www.tokyohive.com/article/2016/07/kimura-kaela-to-release-first-album-in-almost-2-years ''TokyoHive'': "Kimura Kaela to release first album in almost 2 years"]</ref></small>
