Information
In 1993, Amon and Giga formed the Korea's first death metal band, Deathrasher. They changed their drummer several times before ultimately deciding to use a drum machine. With this lineup (Amon, Giga, and a drum machine), they recorded three demo tapes at Giga's house. The demo tapes were grindcore sounding, and despite the technical imperfections, the group already showed a great deal of originality in their songwriting.
In 1996, the band change it's name to 'Moonshine.' With the name change came a shuffling of band members as well. Giga switched from playing bass to drums, and other musicians were recruited to play guitar and bass. With the new name, and lineup change, the group's sound also underwent a change. The group moved away from grindcore and began playing more melodic black metal.
As Moonshine, they have released two full-length albums.
