The band was created in early 2012 by the label [[Stars Shine International]] at first as Icon Girls, but they changed it to Super Girls. On May that year they released their debut digital-single, "[[Be My Love (Super Girls)|Be My Love]]", available in two versions (Cantonese and Mandarin). Super Girls (超女時代) formerly known as Icon Girls, is a Cantonese pop girl group formed by Stars Shine International on 2012.
