cinema staff is a Japanese alternative rock band under the indies label under_bar. The band formed in 2003 under the name "real" as all the members of the band went to the same high school. The band got their musical inspiration in the beginning when bassist Mishima joined a folk song society at Nanzan Daigaku and brought musical ideas to the band. Two years later, after releasing various demo CDs, cinema staff released their first official mini-album, entitled document.
