HIFANA is a Japanese breakbeats unit formed in 1998.

Members

Information

Since their beginning in 1998, HIFANA have always been known for original and creative live performances, during which they cut beats with realtime sampler (MPC) and incorporating scratch and percussion, without using programming.

In November 2003, HIFANA released their first album "FRESH PUSH BREAKIN'" from W+K Tokyo Lab. The album is a creative masterpiece with full use of the sequencer, a terrific mix of native instruments, Okinawan music, natural sounds, scratch and human beatbox, together with amazing editing and sense of humor.

Trivia

The music video "Fatbros" by W+K Tokyo Lab was based on illustrations by HIFANA member, Juicy, and his brother, Maharo.
