She became a member of the indies dance unit "MOMO" after this. They had their own television program, ''Momo-Can do!'' in 2001, and the unit "MYTHRIL" was also formed (MAI left MYTHRIL in 2003). MAI is a Japanese pop-rock artist. She debuted in Korea in 2004 with the single "AWAY". After the release of a Korean album, she debuted in Japan with the single "Kirin no Hanashi" in 2005 under Columbia.

She became a member of the indies dance unit "MOMO" after this. They had their own television program, Momo-Can do! in 2001, and the unit "MYTHRIL" was also formed (MAI left MYTHRIL in 2003).
