Matenrou Opera promoting "Helios" (2011)
Left to Right: Ayame, Yo, Sono, Yu, Anzi

Matenrou Opera (摩天楼オペラ; Skyscraper Opera) is a five-piece Japanese metal band of the visual-kei variety. They formed in the spring of 2007, after Sono and Yu's previous group Jeniva disbanded near the end of 2006. The fact was published on Jeniva's official website, which also revealed their first live and debut release, the single "alkaloid showcase".[1] Having been previously signed to KAMIJO's label Sherow Artist Society for the majority of their indies career (2008-2010), Matenrou Opera announced during their third anniversary live Birth of GENESIS that they would become a major band.[2] They are currently signed with KING RECORDS and are managed by Bellwood Records.
