Secret is Hamasaki Ayumi's 8th full-length studio album, released in November 2006. Originally announced as a mini-album, it was expanded to full-length at the last minute on Hamasaki's insistence.
Like most of her albums near this time, it was released in both a CD-Only and CD+DVD version.
The album's sound takes rock influence a step further than previously heard. Some tracks have a decidedly more "raw" feeling than most of Hamasaki's work.
The cover art features Hamasaki posing with a pegasus tattoo on her back. Part of this tattoo is real - a half-heart shape, a small wing coming out of the side of it, and an A inside of it. The pegasus figure was drawn in body paint with the real tattoo as a base. The half-heart became the pegasus' shoulder, and the wing was expanded.
Secret charted at #1 on the Oricon charts and sold 386,280 copies on its first week.
In total it sold 666,396 copies.
