"Butter-Fly" is the debut single released by Wada Kouji. It was used as the first opening theme to the Digimon Adventure anime series. The track is one of the best known from the series and it's been re-released and re-recorded several times. In 2004 the single was reissued in a 12cm CD format. "Butter-Fly ~Strong Version~" was released by Wada in 2009. It is the 10th Anniversary edition of the single and contains updated version of the tracks. While the 2015 version, "Butter-Fly ~tri.Version~" was used as the opening theme to the Digimon Adventure Tri anime films.

The original "Butter-fly" single reached #47 on the weekly Oricon chart, while the 2004 reissue did not rank. "Butter-fly ~Strong Version~" managed to peak at #143 on the weekly Oricon chart, selling a total of 456 copies.
The "Butter-fly ~tri Version~" of the single reached #37 on the weekly chart and it continued to rank for 18 weeks, selling a total of 11,766 copies. Because it sold 5,423 copies in 2015 it became the #913 single of the year, and it sold 6,343 copies in 2016 making it the #779 single of the year.
