KNOCK OUT MONKEY (ノック・アウト・モンキー) is a Japanese rock band signed to Being. The band mixes reggae, hip-hop, metal, and elements of various genres, such as emo.

Information

KNOCK OUT MONKEY was founded in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture in 2001. However, the original members at the time of formation are not in the current lineup. After a while, w-shun joined the band as the guitarist, and later, as the vocalist. The band underwent several members changes until 2009 when the band finally consisted of the current lineup.

The band released a few early albums, and, in 2012, released the Tower Records limited single single "HOPE" and mini-album 0 → Future. Then they performed at MANAFEST's Tokyo show as the support act. In addition, they have performed at various festivals such as PUNKSPRING, Ozzfest Japan, TOKYO METROPOLITAN ROCK FESTIVAL, MONSTER baSH, JOIN ALIVE, and SUMMER SONIC.

In March 2013, they released the nationwide distributed mini-album reality & liberty. On October 2, 2013, they made their major debut with the single "Paint it Out!!!!". Immediately afterwards, they held a one-man show at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO.

In 2014 the band released their first major album INPUT ∝ OUTPUT and had their first nationwide one-man tour.
