Kobayashi Yumi (小林優美) is a Japanese pop singer and former member of the ASAYAN unit AIS. Kobayashi debuted under the name ABYSS in 1997 with the single "LOOP". But it wasn't until her seventh single, Johnny Chen produced single "WHY", which became popular overseas with the single reaching the #2 in Taiwanese charts.

After the release of her single "WHY", her contract with the record company expired. She was told to participate in the Tsunku Producer Geinoujin Atarashii Unit Audition and made it to the final eight, but lost.

In 2010 she gave birth to her first child.
