MURAMASA☆ (ムラマサ☆) is an eight piece indie Japanese ska/pop band.

  • TOSHIHIRO (トシヒロ) (Bass)
  • HANAYAN (はなやん) (Drums)

Information

The band formed back in December of 2001 and soon started performing at local shows. IN 2005 the band was signed to the indie label Limited Records. They soon went on to release their first single ("SUMMER OF LOVE") and then their first mini-album ("Sakura Mai Chiru Yoru wa"). After their releases the band headed out on an national tour. A couple of the shows they played ended up being sold out and the band ended to tour at Shibuya O-West.

The band then headed back to the studio to record. The then released their second single, "HECTIC!!!!!!!!" and their debut album, "twinkle". They then were invited to play on the music television show HEY!HEY!HEY!. After this they headed out on tour once again. Because of their new found popularity their first one-man live concert which was held at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO was sold out.

The band announced their breakup in 2009.
