pupa is a Japanese pop-electronica supergroup that formed in 2007 under the label Virgin Music. The band was formed by Takahashi Yukihiro of YMO and Sadistic Mika Band fame with actress Harada Tomoyo, musician Takano Hiroshi, Takada Ren, Horie Hirohisa and euphoniumist Gondo Tomohiko of anonymass. The name pupa is a fly-fishing term that was brought by the suggestion of Takahashi Yukihiro for his love of the sport.
