He gained mainstream success after being a faux married couple to singer Seo In Young in the MBC We Got Married variety show, and brings US styled Hip hop to South Korean audiences. He began studying abroad in the United States at a young age, and continued his academia there where he initially attended University of Santa Monica but transferred to UCLA. Kim majored in the Department of Economics and gained an interest in basketball and track, but had to return to South Korea to fulfill mandatory military service. Kim developed an interest in music after his military duty ended, and on March 8, 2006 he released his debut album ONE & ONLY, which was co-produced by prominent K-Hip hop artists such as MC Mong and Dynamic Duo.

He released his second album Miss Me? on August 17, 2007 then gained mainstream popularity for being a faux married couple with singer Seo In Young in the MBC We Got Married variety show in 2008.
