Kido aspired to be a seiyuu ever since watching Shugo Chara! on television and admiring Mizuki Nana's performance in the anime while she was in grade school. In 2011, she auditioned for Horipro's 36th Talent Scout Caravan with the song "Seikan Hikou" from Macross F, and emerged as a finalist. In the same year, she made her first starring debut in the anime Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne! as the heroine Himenokouji Akiko.

In 2014, Kido formed the duo every♡ing! with fellow voice actress Yamazaki Erii.
