Information

"Girls' Generation" is Girls' Generation's debut album. The title track was promoted from November to December 2007, and is a cover of Lee Seung Chul's 1989 hit. 7989 is a duet by Tae Yeon and Kangta. The song title is due to their birthday years: Kangta is 1979, and Tae Yeon is 1989. Honey is a re-arranged version of Perfect for You, included in their first single Into the New World.

A repackage album, Baby Baby, was released four months later and was promoted from March to April 2008. A MV for Baby Baby was released as well, containing scenes of the Making of video of the Girls' Generation MV, and footage of the girls working on their first album.

The album came in #2 in its first weekly rank, and sold 49,438 copies. As of August 2008, the album has sold a total of 124,613 copies.
