"Day by Day" is the fifth single (second Seventh Code single) released by Emyli. Both of the songs on the single were written in the studio with a piano. The title track was written about "someone longing to be with a loved one after an unfortunate break-up, hoping that the loved one will come to realize these longing feelings. On the other hand, "Shake the Habit" deals with a break-up as well but in a much more optimistic way; it basically says, 'I can move on with my life without you by my side'."[1]
The single failed to chart on the weekly Oricon chart.
