Fujimura Miki was born as the fourth youngest child in 1956 to a vocal music professor father and a piano teacher mother in a Catholic home. Even though she was raised in a musically home, she wasn't given music lessons but she learned elementary music theory and developed her husky voice.

In 1969, Fujimura met her future group mates Itou Ran and Tanaka Yoshiko at Okutama's camping ground. They later became school mates and then cast mates as mascot girls on the show Kayou Grand Show in 1972. When a producer scouted the girls out, Fujimura, Itou, and Tanaka formed the group Candies. The group released their first single "Anata ni Yumechuu" a year later as Fujimura took the nickname "Miki". She became the leader of the group but sang mostly the chorus in the Candies songs. When she had a chance, she sang the main vocals for the singles "Wana", "Haru Ichiban", and "Yasashii Akuma". During her time in Candies, she also had the chance to write her own songs lyrics, totaling eleven different songs.

After Candies broke up in 1978, Fujimura wemt onto become a solo singer, releasing her first single on the label BOURBON. But, soon after, she took a hiatus from show business to marry businessman Oshin Yoshikazu.
