"LA BOUM ~MY BOOM IS ME~" is the first single recorded by [[Kaji Hideki]]. It comes a few months after the release of his solo debut mini-album ''[[Muscat EP|MUSCAT EP]]''. The single was used as the [[Wikipedia:Kewpie|Kewpie]] Half [[CM|commercial theme]]. The song features recording help from [[Cornelius|Oyamada Keigo]] (of [[FLIPPER'S GUITAR]] and CORNELIUS) and [[Horie Hirohisa]] (from [[neil & iraiza]]).<small><ref>[https://www.discogs.com/Hideki-Kaji-La-Boum-My-Boom-Is-Me/release/473666 Discogs Profile]</ref></small> An alternative version of the B-side "[[First Question Award of Theme|First question Award of theme ~Schools Out~]]" was later released on the [[Trattoria 7inch Split Single Series No. 1|split vinyl]] with [[Cornelius|CORNELIUS]].

This release is a perfect example of when Kaji gives a Japanese title to us English titled songs. The song is officially "LA BOUM ~MY BOOM IS ME~", (or even "La Boum" for short) but according to Japanese sources it is referred to "LA BOUM ~Datte MY BOOM IS ME~". The single was released a week leading into his first full length studio album ''[[Mini Skirt (album)|MINI SKIRT]]''.
