- Information
"LA BOUM ~MY BOOM IS ME~" is the first single recorded by Kaji Hideki. It comes a few months after the release of his solo debut mini-album MUSCAT EP. The single was used as the Kewpie Half commercial theme. The song features recording help from Oyamada Keigo (of FLIPPER'S GUITAR and CORNELIUS) and Horie Hirohisa (from neil & iraiza).[1] An alternative version of the B-side "First question Award of theme ~Schools Out~" was later released on the split vinyl with CORNELIUS.
This release is a perfect example of when Kaji gives a Japanese title to us English titled songs. The song is officially "LA BOUM ~MY BOOM IS ME~", (or even "La Boum" for short) but according to Japanese sources it is referred to "LA BOUM ~Datte MY BOOM IS ME~". The single was released a week leading into his first full length studio album MINI SKIRT.
