Kobayashi Yumi (小林優美) is a Japanese pop singer and former member of the ASAYAN unit AIS. Kobayashi debuted under the name ABYSS in 1997 with the single "LOOP". But it wasn't until her seventh single, Johnny Chen produced single "WHY", which became popular overseas with the single reaching the #2 in Taiwanese charts.
Kobayashi was one of the final eight finalists in the Tsunku Producer Geinoujin Atarashii Unit Audition which spawned Taiyou to Ciscomoon.
