An obi (帯) is a sash worn around the waist of some types of Japanese clothing, including a kimono. In media terms it is the outside strip that usually comes with an album or single on the case, opposite the side of the opening. Occasionally an artist's other releases are promoted on the inside, but they normally have nothing printed inside.
