Seinen (青年) literally means "youth" in Japanese. The term is often used to refer to a type of Japanese manga and anime, aimed at a older male audience over 18. Subject matter in seinen comics have a wide variety ranging from the action to comedy and even to hentai.
Popular shonen manga and anime include Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing, and Serial Experiments Lain.
