YVE is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She got her st start in the music industry as Nejiki Mami when won the grand prix for the 7th Annual All Japan National Beautiful Girl Contest in 1998 along with three other girls. In 1999, Nejiki and the three other girls formed the J-Pop group Z-1 and debuted their first single, "Vibe!", July of that year.

After Z-1 broke up, Nejiki went on to start her own solo career under the label Tokuma Japan Communications and debuted her first single, "Kitaguni Ikide ~Missing Way~", a cover of a famous hit by Shuri Eiko.
