Kubo Ruriko (久宝留理子) is a Japanese singer. Kubo got her start after graduating from high school in 1989 by performing live concerts all over her hometown. A year later, she was signed to Epic Sony Records and released her first single, entitled Plastic Man Life. But it wasn't until 1993 when she released the single Otoko that Kubo was popular. The single Hayaku Shite yo, released a year after, was also a major hit for Kubo. These two singles gave Kubo her first and second appearance on the end of the program Kouhaku Uta Gassen for bother 1993 and 1994.

In 1998, Kubo switched labels from Epic Sony Records to Victor Entertainment. Three years later, she got married to SOPHIA keyboardist Miyako Keiichi and now has two kids together. Currently, she is performing at live events but also became a music producer.
