- Information
"Wadatsumi no Ki" is the debut single released by Hajime Chitose. It is also her first major release, since signing with EPIC Records in late 2001. The single's title references Wadatsumi, an ancient Japanese dragon and water deity. The single reached #1 on the Oricon charts, where it stayed in the top 10 for three months and charted for 37 weeks. As it sold 848,000 copies overall, it became the #3 highest selling single in 2002. The title song's songwriter, Ueda Gen, covered the song on his third album Juubyougo no Sekai.
