Crash (band)
Crash is a thrash metal band from Seoul, South Korea.
History
Crash was formed in 1991 with lineup of Ahn Heung-Chan (vo, bs), Jung Yong-Wook (dr) and Yun Du-Byung (g). Even before their first album, they became famous in the Korean rock scene with their powerful stage.
In 1993 they record their debut album Endless supply of the pain with an internationally famous death metal producer Colin Richardson. Endless supply of the pain was a critical and commercial success with more than 80,000 copies sold in 1993.
After a more death metal oriented second album To be or not to be, original guitarist Yun was fired from the group. For their third album, Crash recruited two new guitarists. The third album, Experimental state of fear, released in (1997) again found the band working with Colin Richardson. This album found the band experimenting with a more industrial sound a la Fear Factory. This new sound proved to be very successful, and the album is still regarded as one of the band's finest releases.
At present, Crash has released five full-length albums. They recently participated in then D.R.I. tribute album, We don't need society with a cover version of the song, "Acid Rain".
