Profile
Ayumi was born in Tokyo and raised as a child model. She frequently appeared in magazines and commericials. She first acted at the age of 13 in Mizu no Tabibito, but it wasn't until 1996 she got recognized for her excellent acting in Swallowtail. She received Best New Actress and Best Supporting Actress Award from the Japanese Academy Awards, and Best New Actress Award from the Takasaki Film Festival for the role.
While in high school, Ayumi had participated in many different projects and movies. One of these projects include the girl band Mean Machine. She participated as the lead singer of the group. In 1999 she studied in New York City for a year, and became interested in working on overseas films. She is studying English in hopes of reaching those goals.
Recently Ayumi has debuted with her voice acting in the Final Fantasy series as Tifa. She has done voice acting in both movies and games from the series.
