Information

Hi-Fi Set was formed after September 1974 when three members from the recently disbanded folk song group Akai Tori decided to form their own group. Yamamoto Junko, Yamamoto Toshihiko, and Okawa Shigeru named their group Hi-Fi Set due to the help of fellow musician Hosono Haruomi. They released their first single and album on the same day in February of the next year, entitled Sotsugyou Shashin, which became popular among the Japanese people.

Their next came in 1977 with the single Feeling FEELINGS, a cover of song by Brazilian singer-songwriter Morris Albert. Because of the huge success of this single, Hi-Fi Set was invited at the end of the year on the program Kouhaku Utagassen.

After 26 singles and 19 albums, the group broke up in 1994. Yamamoto Junko would continued in the music business as a solo singer.
