Kaitani Naomi got into music by taking piano and organ lessons when she was a young child. Then at age 15, she composed her first song, entitled "BASEBALL GAME", which was chosen for the festival "Challenge Bunkasai '94". Two years later, she formed a band while studying music with composer Matsuoka Michiko.
Kaitani went to college at Shobi-Gakuen Junior College after graduating high school. There, she studied composition with Komori Akihiro and piano with David Stein.
