Kobayashi Yumi (小林優美) is a Japanese pop singer and former member of the ASAYAN unit AIS. Kobayashi debuted under the name ABYSS in 1997 with the single LOOP. But it wasn't until her seventh single, Johnny Chen produced single WHY, that Kobayashi became popular overseas with the single reaching the #2 in Taiwanese charts.
