Kubo Ruriko (久宝留理子) is a Japanese singer. Kubo got her start after graduating from high school in 1989 by performing live concerts all over her hometown. A year later, she was signed to the label Epic Sony Records and released her first single, entitled "Plastic Man Life". But it wasn't until 1993 when she released the single "Otoko" that Kubo was popular. The single "Hayaku Shite yo", released a year after, was also a major hit for Kubo. These two singles gave Kubo her first and second appearance on the end of the program Kouhaku Uta Gassen for bother 1993 and 1994.
